You are correct. Mormons do not believe that Mary was sinless, and therefore do not believe in the immaculate conception. However, we do believe in a “miraculous conception,” that a chosen virgin bore the Son of God.

The doctrine teaches that Mary was supernaturally protected from the taint of original sin. It does not refer to the birth of Jesus, so I think that the Tag “immaculate conception” is not appropriate to this discussion.

The Book of Mormon does not say that Jesus was born of the Holy Ghost and neither does the Bible. The texts agree that she was “overshadowed” by the Holy Ghost. No one knows exactly what this means, except that the Holy Ghost has the ability as the messenger through whom the Lord communicates to prepare and to “quicken” a person to be able to stand in the presence of God.
